Hi Welcome to my channel. This channel, named after the Rutland Railroad's Island Line that ran (runs) from Burlington VT up through the Champlain Islands and ended in Rouses Point NY. Most of my content is railfan related, however I do upload planespotting and flying videos as well. I also have another channel (That Vermont Pilot) dedicated to the building and flying of my Kolb Firefly FAR 103 legal Ultralight. I hope you enjoy my videos. Thanks for watching!
Chasing and pacing Amtrak 130 leading the Vermonter. St. Albans to Middlesex VT
Well my flight to VA was delayed a day due to a very large snow storm and weather enroute so instead I headed to catch the Vermonter with Amtrak 130 in the lead. I wanted to try and chase as the sun in the fresh snow looked amazing. Overall I am happy with how the morning turned out.

While out on a walk at the Missiquoi National Wildlife Refuge in Swanton, I heard CN M324 getting track south to St. Albans. I decided to hang out for a little while longer and catch them as they passed at track speed. didn't chase as I needed to get home after but that SD75I leader was nice

@@Vermont-rail-fanner-432 RDHJ and HJRD are M-W-F-Sa and don't run Sunday. Usually on duty around 0700-0800

Old time? Most of those are pretty new cars and built within the 2000s or so perhaps in the 90s. But usually bulk freight like paper rolls, bags of grain, etc

@@TZrailfaning 3 hours late, sorry I just saw your reply. How long are you here for? do you have a scanner? (NECR i s 160.770) The easiest way to tell if CN has run or not is if there are cars on the farthest right track when standing at Brigham Rd and looking into the yard. That is CN's outbound track. Inbounds are usually on the far left yard track (mainline is far far left)
I wish NECR would go back to the original blue and gold. The orange livery looks like everyone else.
Does the CN only run on Tuesday?
CN M324 is currently on a Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday schedule

@@TZrailfaning as with any freight train, it does not have a schedule. Usually mid morning to mid afternoon though. For the past few months it has arrived at the border between 11 am and noon.
